課程目標
九零年代台灣的性別研究,在某個程度上已經隨著性別議題主流化、學院建制化的過程而逐漸成為社會學的主要課題,也有越來越多的碩博士論文投入性別研究。當前我們面對的主要挑戰,不再只是看見性別,而是如何深化性別研究,超越把性別加進去攪一攪 (add gender in)的分析方式,我們需要對於性別的概念進行更精確的理論界定,同時,反省西方中心的概念工具,進而探究在不同的社會、文化與歷史脈絡中,性別作為壓迫結構、社會建構以及主體實作等不同層次的在地經驗。
本課程內容分為兩大部份,第一部份涵蓋女性主義理論對於sex與gender的不同理論觀點與概念化方式,包括七零年代探討父權起源的經典文獻、八零年代的女性主義立場論,俗民方法論傳統下對性別實作的強調,以及九零年代從後現代、後殖民主義出發對於主體與差異政治的反思。第二部份的重點強調從交織(intersecting)的理論觀點探討性別化的差異經驗與主體位置,涉及母職、陽剛氣質、異性戀霸權、社會主義、殖民與國族主義等制度。
 
課程要求
我們不崇尚高空比武式的讀書比賽,而希望看到大家在閱讀的過程中跟自己關切的議題、或是未來研究的主題,能有互動和對話。基本要求是:一定要讀書,無故不缺席。每個人都要事先閱讀相關文獻,並輪流主持討論、報告解讀文本。本課程以十五人為限,人數有餘裕時可開放旁聽,旁聽生不是free-rider,請同樣繳交心得與參與口頭報告。

每週都要針對指定閱讀教材繳交一到兩頁的閱讀心得。閱讀心得的內容應包括該文的主要論點(注意不是翻譯,而是指出作者問的問題、對話的對象、運用的資料、回答的方式、以及其理論的意義),你的看法(有哪些同意與不同意的地方、對你有怎樣的啟發),以及想要進一歩討論的問題。請在上課當天中午前用紙本交到我的系辦信箱 (請務必打字, 且勿用電子版傳送)。每週輪流由一位同學紀錄課堂討論,以作為大家的參考。

1. 課堂參與討論、分組報告、輪流紀錄 30%
2. 每週閱讀心得 (600-1000字) 30%
3. 期末報告40%:請選擇一個主題,根據相關的至少兩本專書或五篇期刊論文(其中至多一篇/本與課堂讀物重疊,必須包括若干本土研究),從交織的理論角度,討論這些文本在分析上的優點與缺點,以及值得開展的分析問題。文長為4000-5000字。
